ASM's Stakeholder Management is about how global route development affects and influences the local infrastructure surrounding the airport. ASM works closely with tourism boards, economic agencies and local businesses in order to establish the best solutions for the air service development in that particular region. In many instances the local stakeholders become the main decision makers and work in unison with ASM to ensure the most effective outcome is achieved.
A recent and successful example was when ASM was approached by the St. Lucia Tourism Board (SLTB) to provide a strategy and implementation plan to manage and develop airlift capacity to the Island. The early stages of the relationship focused on a strategic assessment of the room capacity and tourism potential for the Island.
It was vital to find new air capacity at the right level of investment to ensure St. Lucia retained enough capacity to fill the rooms. ASM identified route targets and strategic direction and gave a presentation of route opportunities including costings, business cases and analysis. It also provided strategy reviews, competitor monitoring and advice on, and formulation of, policy initiatives.
