As part of the airport’s ambition to secure new air services from China, Cologne Bonn Airport has
appointed ASM to support its new business initiative. Following on from our recent rapid growth, we are
looking further afield to new markets and destinations.
Ulrich Stiller, Director Marketing & Sales, Cologne Bonn Airport commented on the appointment of
ASM:
“Cologne Bonn Airport has witnessed an incredible growth in passenger numbers over the last five years
and in 2007, we surpassed the magical milestone of 10 million passengers in the year for the first time.
“As the central gateway to Europe with around 130 destinations served and developing trading links
with China, we are now looking to establish new long haul connections.
“The appointment of ASM illustrates our determination to further develop Cologne Bonn Airport beyond
Europe and we view their professionalism, experience and established presence in China as a vital
element of delivering new business for our Airport.”
ASM has been appointed to provide representation services in China for Cologne Bonn as the airport
seeks to develop new services and capitalise on the rapidly expanding aviation market in Northern Asia.
With an office based in Beijing, and an expanding team of industry professionals, ASM is well placed to
provide advice, support and direction in the development of air services from China to Europe.
David Stroud, Managing Director of ASM, sees the company’s expanded international team, with specific
expertise in local markets as a key factor.
“We have invested heavily in our overseas team, adopted a more market focused position and are placing
the emphasis on providing a first rate service, and delivery, to our clients.
“Airports with ambitions to attract carriers from China need to have a constant and effective presence in
the country. Our Beijing team provides exactly that.
“We are delighted to be working with Cologne Bonn Airport on this initiative. The airport should be
congratulated on the growth it has achieved so far and we aim to make a positive contribution to their
success going forward.”
